About Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion)
Kyoto's dazzling golden temple, completely covered in gold leaf, sitting at the edge of a mirror-like pond. The 14th-century Zen temple was originally a shogun's retirement villa before becoming a temple. The reflection of the golden structure on the calm water is one of Japan's most photographed sights.
